    The ETI 8500 conductivity meter is a three-in-one conductivity meter featuring an easy-to-read LCD display that shows conductivity in ppm (parts per million) from 0 to 3500 ppm with a 1 ppm resolution, conductivity in millisiemens/cm (mS/cm) from 0.00 to 5.00 mS/cm with a 0.01 mS/cm resolution, and temperature from 0 to 50 °C with a 0.1 °C resolution.

    Both ppm and mS/cm readings are automatically temperature compensated within the operating range of 0 to 50 °C, using the temperature sensor in the measuring probe.

    These conductivity meters are housed in a robust ABS case and are powered by three AAA batteries, offering a minimum battery life of 5000 hours.

    The unit incorporates an automatic power-off feature that switches the instrument off after ten minutes, maximizing battery life.

    What is the difference between a conductivity meter and a TDS meter?

    Scientifically, conductivity indicates how well electricity conducts through a substance. The TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) value, on the other hand, indicates the amount of dissolved solids in a liquid, including both conductive and non-conductive particles.

    In practice, both conductivity meters and TDS meters pass electricity through a liquid. Conductivity meters can be used to estimate the TDS value of a substance.

    How do electrical conductivity meters work?

    When a probe is inserted into a solution, an electrical current is passed between the electrodes of the probe. The ion concentration in the solution affects the current strength, which can then be measured and read by the meter.
