The Thermapen thermometer features a stainless steel reduced penetration probe that can be easily rotated 180 degrees into the side of the instrument when not in use. The response time of each thermometer depends on many factors: the mass of the sensor tip, heat transfer and, most importantly, the state of the substance to be measured.
