Air reacts faster to temperature changes than food. The Food Simulant Probe has a longer response time, which more closely matches the reaction of food.

This means that if, for example, a fault occurs or a refrigerator door is left open, you will be more certain when your food's temperature has risen, preventing you from having to unnecessarily discard food.

For businesses with multiple refrigerators/freezers, users can place the sensors and use one thermocouple thermometer, such as the Therma 1, to check each sensor throughout the day and measure the temperature. This makes temperature checks easy and accurate, without the need to purchase multiple instruments for each refrigerator.
