The Thermapen has been the standard for anyone who takes cooking seriously for years. From home cooks to Michelin-starred chefs, from Sunday roasts to low-and-slow brisket. The NANO takes everything that made the Thermapen ONE so good and goes one step further: faster readings, a brighter screen, a built-in magnet, and a slimmer, lighter design.
The NANO was unveiled in August 2026. Pre-orders will be shipped starting in November, in the order they are received.
Does the NANO replace the Thermapen ONE?
Yes. The NANO is the successor to the Thermapen ONE and sets a new standard for speed.
What is the difference compared with the Thermapen ONE?
The NANO measures 2.5 times faster (0.4 versus 1 second), has a much brighter display, built-in magnets, a design that is 10 percent thinner, and a °C/°F button on the back.
Is my Thermapen ONE warranty still valid?
Yes. Nothing changes about the warranty on the ONE. The NANO gets the same 5-year warranty period.
What is ThermaBoost and how does it work?
ThermaBoost is the patent-pending technology behind the 0.4-second measurement time. As soon as the NANO detects a large temperature change, for example from room temperature to a chicken at 71 °C, it increases its measurement frequency from 5 to 20 times per second. Once the temperature is reached, it returns to 5 times per second to conserve battery power.
Is the 0.4 seconds a real measurement or a prediction?
A real measurement. Many competitors use an algorithm that predicts the final temperature based on the initial readings. The NANO does not: it reads the actual thermal curve using a Type K thermocouple and 20 measurements per second.
Why is the NANO more accurate than a cheap digital thermometer?
The NANO has a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.3 °C and is individually calibrated before leaving the factory.
How long does the battery last?
Approximately 1,000 hours on an AAA battery, despite the higher measurement speed and brighter display. That’s thanks to ThermaBoost, which only accelerates when needed.
How do I switch between °C and °F?
With a button on the back. On earlier models, you had to open the battery compartment to access it. If you hold down the button, you open the settings menu for options including sleep mode and resolution.
Is the NANO suitable for a professional kitchen?
Yes. The IP67 enclosure can withstand daily cleaning and spills, and it comes with a 5-year warranty.
